Why Clemson?

The Tigers are one of the few programs at the top of the college football world and a perennial playoff contender. Lead recruiter Tyler Grisham has established a good relationship with Egbuka as have several of the players currently on the team. The Tigers have done a good job getting receivers drafted over the past decade sitting at #3 in our WRU rankings. The Tigers play for championships and develop receivers that get selected early in the draft, which is a good formula for recruiting receivers.

Why Ohio State?

Ohio State in an elite program in it’s own right and has been the class of the Big Ten for quite some time. Head Coach Ryan Day and WR Coach Brian Hartline have both built an excellent relationship with Egbuka. Hartline and the Buckeyes employ a rotation at wide receiver that allows young players to get on the field quickly like Garrett WIlson did this past season. Ryan Day has built an advanced offense that fits Egbuka well and would allow him to showcase his abilities. 2020 receiver recruit Gee Scott is from the state of Washington as well, he and the other receivers are doing a good job of peer recruiting as are 2021 QB Kyle McCord and the other Buckeyes commits. Ohio State ranks #4 in the aforementioned WRU rankings, but most of their points have come over the past five years and they appear to be trending up on this list.

Why Oklahoma?

Oklahoma has been in the playoff the past three seasons and is dominating the Big 12 conference. Lincoln Riley and Dennis Simmons have done a good job recruiting Egbuka to Norman. Riley runs a passing game friendly offense and puts up a lot of points in the Big 12. The Sooners are currently #2 in the WRU rankings and have been getting receivers drafted consistently over the past decade. QB recruit Caleb Williams and WR recruit Mario Williams have been peer recruiting Egbuka to Oklahoma. The Sooners are in the thick of this battle and have done a good job of positioning themselves to sign Egbuka.

Why Washington?

For starters, Washington is the only one of Egbuka’s finalists that is close to home. New Head Coach Jimmy Lake and his staff have been in touch with Egbuka regularly as they continue to build a relationship with the star recruit. Though it’s hard to project how Lake will do in his first season the program has been trending up in recent years. The wide receivers on the team currently have been in contact with Egbuka and are trying to convince the local star to stay close to home. Star QB recruit Sam Huard has been in Egbuka’s ear as well and has been able to train with him this summer. The Huskies are nearby and offer the opportunity to be a hometown hero.
