Raheim Sanders: A Quick Look at What the Razorbacks are Getting

Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Recently, Raheim Sanders committed to Arkansas, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a quick scouting report based on his film.

Raheim Sanders is a big, well built football player who can play all over the field. He could be a linebacker or running back, but is likely to play receiver and some hybrid offensive positions for Arkansas. Don’t let Sanders’ size fool you, he may be big and thick but he has good long speed and explosive short range quickness. He changes directions well and accelerates up to speed quickly. He is probably not going to be a burner, but he has adequate speed to play the receiver position. Sanders makes people miss with his acceleration and strength, it doesn’t take him long to change directions and get back up to speed, and arm tackles just won’t do the trick. While he has a lot of good physical traits, Sanders will need to maintain his quickness as he grows into his body. This is a college player who could play in the 220 to 230 lb range. He needs to work on the technical aspects of the receiver position and become a better route runner and receiver of the football, right now he is just an athlete overwhelming the defense. Sanders has the ability to be a big receiver with some big play potential at the college level and should create plenty of mismatches for the defense to worry about.
