Tunmise Adeleye: Scouting Report

Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year we will review player’s film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Today we will dive in and breakdown the tape on Tunmise Adeleye to give you a quick scouting report based on his film.

Tunmise Adeleye possesses a very sturdy build that immediately jumps out on film. He has a strong and thickly built lower half and an equally impressive upper half. Adeleye has one of the most impressive inside swim moves in this class and uses his hands to defeat blockers as opposed to relying solely on his athleticism. This is a player that understands his assignments and plays with discipline on the edge against zone reads and against traditional zone blocking runs – cutting off the potential cut back.

Adeleye has a very good first step for a player with his build and bulls blockers at this level with his raw strength. He is consistently able to get off blocks and chase down to ball carrier although his closing speed should be categorized as above average. Adeleye’s power is equally evident as a tackler as he makes his presence felt in just about every hit. Adeleye is not a particularly fluid player but his hustle and passion are on display throughout his film. Tunmise Adeleye is very good player who will develop into an excellent strong side defensive end or potentially a three technique at a premier power five program.
