Troy Stellato: A Quick Look at What the Tigers are Getting
Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Recently, Troy Stellato committed to Clemson, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a quick scouting report based on his film.
Troy Stellato is a good wide receiver prospect who could play in the slot or outside. He has great speed and can score from anywhere on the field. Stellato still has room to add weight to his frame and should continue to get stronger. He has good hands and is very natural catching the ball. He is a competitive athlete who is not afraid of contact or competition. Stellato makes plays in traffic and through contact. He plays with an edge that pushes him to perform on the field and it shows. He could continue to play the slot, like he did primarily as a junior, or he could continue to add strength and be a vertical threat on the perimeter. He has adequate height and would not qualify as a small receiver. Stellato has great speed but is not as quick in short areas. He relies on his speed at this level and will need to work on his make you miss ability and his route running at the next level. Troy Stellato is a high end talent who can hit a homerun on any play, he should continue to improve and become a more polished receiver. He is a great fit in the Clemson offense.
