Terrence Ferguson: Scouting Report
Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Recently, Terrence Ferguson committed to Alabama, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a quick scouting report based on his film.
Terrence Ferguson has a very impressive build with a massive base and plays with strength that is readily apparent after seeing his frame. He will need to reshape his body some and reduce body fat, but is not out of shape by any stretch. Ferguson has good length for a guard prospect and may be able to play right tackle in a pinch. With above average feet for the position, he is able to move enough in space. Ferguson plays with tremendous effort and finishes his blocks through the end of the play consistently. There are times where his hands get too far outside, but overall, his hand placement is very good at this stage in his career.
As a pass protector, he is not the most technically sound prospect, as he looks to quickly engage pass rushers and rely on his brute force to keep them at bay. He will need to hone his footwork in this regard and exhibit more patience and balance to be effective in the passing game. Terrence Ferguson is a very impressive guard prospect that flashes the potential to be an All-Conference level player with some refinement.
