Florida GatorsRecruit Scouting Reports

Marcus Burke: Scouting Report

Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Recently, Marcus Burke committed to Florida, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a scouting report based on his film.

Marcus Burke is a big, athletic receiver who can stretch the field. He has good height and length with the ability to keep getting stronger as he matures. Burke tracks the ball well and does a good job of positioning himself well for the catch. He has excellent body control and a great catch radius allowing Burke to make plays on balls thrown anywhere is his vicinity. He does a good job of catching the ball naturally with his hands and high points it well. He wins jump balls regularly and is a matchup nightmare for smaller defensive backs on the perimeter.

Burke has the burst to get off the line quickly and has the speed to get behind the defense. He shows good agility with the ball in his hands and is able to navigate to open space to pick up yards after the catch. Burke will need to continue to progress as a route runner, but has the necessary physical tools to become a good route runner. He will need to get stronger and fill out to handle more physical defenders in college, but has the frame to do so. Overall, Burke has a lot of the tools needed to be a big time receiver. Marcus Burke will be an excellent receiver, who could challenge for all conference honors at the college level.
