Ricky Parks: Scouting Report
Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Recently, Ricky Parks committed to Utah, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a scouting report based on his film.
Ricky Parks is a complete player at the running back position. He has the desirable size at the position and is big enough to be an every down college running back. He displays good vision and burst, finding the hole and accelerating through it quickly. Parks has good feet and is able to set his runs up well and angle himself through traffic. He has good balance and can keep his feet when taking contact and picking his way through traffic. He is a tough runner who fights for extra yardage and will be tough to bring down as he gets stronger. Parks has good long speed and can break away for chunk plays. Parks shows good hands as a receiver in the passing game and can be a three down back. Parks can improve his elusiveness and tackle breaking ability some. There is not much to complain about in Parks’ game but he could continue to get better across the board as he is good at many things but not yet great at them. Ricky Parks will be a good running back who is a multi-year starter at the college level with the upside to be an all conference type player.
