Why Florida?

The Gators offered Wiggins in January and have been building a relationship with him since. Wiggins has visited Gainesville on multiple occasions and appears to have connected with the coaching staff. The Gators facilities and the culture Dan Mullen has built have had a positive impact on this recruitment. Florida is near the top of the list getting their defensive backs drafted, coming in at #4 in our DBU rankings. The class is filling up quickly but Wiggins is one of the best targets remaining on the board.

Why Georgia?

The home state Bulldogs did not appear to be much of a factor in this battle until recently, but the communication between Wiggins and Georgia has picked up. Kirby Smart has recruited at a high level since arriving in Athens, and has the advantage of being located down the road from Wiggins. Georgia has brand recognition in state and even though the Bulldogs have not been discussed as much throughout his recruitment, it would be foolish to write them off.

Why LSU?

The Tigers were one of the first big offers for Wiggins back in January. LSU has a strong track record of cornerbacks being drafted, ranking #1 in our DBU rankings. Cornerbacks coach Corey Raymond has been recruiting Wiggins and has established a good connection with the star recruit. LSU’s man coverage schemes and style of play in the secondary appeal to Wiggins. Ed Orgeron and the reigning champs have put themselves in good position to win this battle.

Why Oregon?

The Ducks offered Wiggins in April and immediately became a factor in his recruitment. Lead recruiter Rod Chance has worked quickly to build a relationship with Wiggins. Oregon is the farthest of the finalists but Mario Cristobal and company have been recruiting well and have proven they can recruit across the country. Cristobal has the program trending up on the field and in recruiting, making the Ducks a team that should not be counted out of any battle.
