Why Clemson?

The Tigers are one of the few programs at the top of the college football world and a perennial playoff contender. Defensive Coordinator Brent Venables is one of the best in the game and finds creative ways to use his best athletes (see Isaiah Simmons). Daniels could be the next versatile athlete Venables works with. Finally, Clemson has done a good job getting defensive backs drafted, ranking #5 in our DBU rankings. Clemson would be a good fit for Daniels skills and prepare him for the NFL.

Why LSU?

The defending champions have always had a strong defense, and are currently #1 in our DBU rankings. Head Coach Ed Orgeron and the Tigers are a force on the recruiting trail and can pull players from anywhere in the country. LSU only signed one safety last year allowing Daniels to have a good shot at getting on the field sooner. The Tigers offer the chance to get on the field quickly, play for the reigning champs and develop into a high draft pick in Baton Rouge.

Why Oklahoma?

Oklahoma is the closest to home of the four finalists. The Sooners have been in the playoffs three years in a row and are another championship contender on Daniels’ list. Defensive Coordinator Alex Grinch is trying to rebuild the Sooners defense and Daniels would be a key component of that rebuilt defense. The Sooners are the class of the Big 12 and give Daniels the chance to play for a contender without leaving the state.

Why Texas A&M?

Head Coach Jimbo Fisher was brought in to win these types of recruiting battles. The Aggies have been recruiting at a high level since Fisher’s arrival and are a major contender to land Daniels. Fisher and the Aggies are pitching the progress they have made on the recruiting trail and the belief that the Aggies are on their way to being one of the top programs in the country. Lead recruiter Mike Elko appears to have a good relationship with Daniels and makes Texas A&M a major player in this recruiting battle.
