Why Arizona State?

Herm Edwards is a former NFL coach and has a staff full of coaches who also have NFL ties. Estime believes the NFL experience Edwards and his staff have will help him reach his goal of one day playing in the NFL, as well. The Sun Devils program is trending up and Estime has taken notice of the progress they made last season. Arizona State has a coaching staff Estime believes in and an upwards trajectory as a program which got them into his top six.

Why Michigan State?

The Spartans have a history of using powerful running backs effectively even as teams have shifted towards spread offenses. Mel Tucker arrived from Colorado in February and immediately made Estime feel like a priority for the program. They have built a good relationship since then and there is a comfort level with the Spartans staff. Estime is scheduled to visit Michigan State’s campus this month which can only be a good sign. Mel Tucker and company have put themselves in a good position so far in this battle.

Why Nebraska?

Nebraska has been recruiting Estime since he was a sophomore, the staff has built a great relationship with him. The history of the Huskers program is not lost on Estime, neither is the fact that Nebraska has had some good running backs play for the Huskers. Nebraska has done a good job getting RBs drafted this decade ranking 18th in our RBU rankings. Scott Frost and company are trying to rebuild the program and Estime is a talented player who could get them to where they want to be.

Why Rutgers?

Rutgers is the home state school and offers the opportunity to play close to home. Estime believes Coach Greg Schiano has Rutgers headed in the right direction (we too are excited to see what Schiano can do). Estime’s former high school coach is now an assistant at Rutgers, which gives the Scarlet Knights a built in advantage. The Scarlet Knights have some instant credibility thanks to the success Schiano had at Rutgers in his previous stint with the team. If Schiano can convince Estime that he can return the Scarlet Knights to those heights Rutgers could win this battle.

Why Texas A&M?

The Aggies offer the opportunity to play in the SEC which is appealing to Estime. The ability to play against some of the best competition in the country is a great way to prepare for the NFL. Lead recruiter Elijah Robinson has excellent ties in New Jersey and has done an excellent job recruiting the state for the Aggies. Robinson and Estime have developed a good relationship and SEC definitely has a certain appeal that bodes well for A&M.

Why Virginia Tech?

The Hokies were one of the first schools to start recruiting Estime. Lead recruiter Adam Lechtenberg has been building a relationship with Estime for a long time. There is a chance to see playing time early in his career with the Hokies, which is something Estime is looking for. Virginia Tech has had success with running backs earlier this decade and still ranks 13th in our RBU rankings. Estime likes the coaching staff and the opportunities that are available to him in Blacksburg.

Here is our scouting report on Estime.
