Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Kendal Daniels has committed to Oklahoma State. Today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a quick scouting report based on his film.
Kendal Daniels a versatile athlete who can play anywhere in the back seven. He has excellent height and length as a safety with room to add bulk and strength without sacrificing athleticism. He has good instincts and covers a lot of range in the secondary. He has excellent ball skills, making jaw dropping interceptions with ease. Daniels has good explosion, closing on the play well to make plays in front of him. He recognizes plays well and anticipates the offensive play well, often getting a good jump on the play right at the snap.
Daniels is a physical player who does a good job of taking on blockers, disengaging and disrupting the running game. He pursues the football well doing a good job of tracking the ball carrier and closing after minimal gains. Dennis will need to improve his technique in man coverage to take on college slot receivers. Daniels needs to work on his fluidity and change of direction skills which will help him in coverage as well. Overall, Daniels is an explosive safety who has an uncanny ability to make big plays. Kendal Daniels will be an excellent defender, who could be an excellent safety or coverage linebacker who is an all conference type performer.
