Beaux Collins: Scouting Report

Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Beaux Collins is committed to Clemson, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a scouting report based on his film.

Beaux Collins a physical wide receiver who is very advanced for a high school prospect. Collins has good height and strength with a frame to continue to add strength as he matures. He can overpower defensive backs and creates mismatches with his size and length. Collins is a good route runner who creates separation with ease, and presents a good target for his quarterback. Collins demonstrates a large catch radius and the ability to attack the ball and come down with difficult catches. Collins does not have great long speed, but shows good burst and is able to pull away coming off the line or out of his breaks.

Collins’ strength is an asset in the running game as well where he is a willing blocker and can overpower smaller defensive backs. He is tough to tackle because of his burst and power but will need to be more elusive at the next level. Collins sometimes turns up field too quickly and bobbles balls he should catch cleanly, but this is more of a focus issue as he demonstrates good hands and body control on difficult catches. Overall, Collins has the size and route running ability to be an impact player. Beaux Collins will be a physical receiver who moves that chains consistently and is a starter for a top 25 team.
