Keanu Koht: Scouting Report

Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Recently, Keanu Koht committed to LSU, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a quick scouting report based on his film.

Keanu Koht is a nice looking edge prospect with good height and the frame to add some more weight. Koht is quick off the ball and is a high energy player who really gets after it. He has good athleticism and is mostly a fluid player that relies on his athleticism to make plays at this level. He does play with leverage from time to time, but more consistency is needed. Koht tends to rely on his speed rush around the edge to get to the quarterback, and makes most of his plays shooting gaps against the run. Although he does engage defenders with his hands, he lacks an arsenal of pass rush moves, and will need to add some to his toolbox. As a pass rusher he demonstrates the potential to be successful converting his speed to power at the collegiate level. Koht does not take plays off and his energy will be infectious, a trait that should not be overlooked. This is a very vicious tackler who brings the pain when he meets the quarterback. Look for Keanu Koht to take a couple seasons to develop into a good contributor with starter capability at an upper echelon power five program.
