Alabama Crimson TideRecruit Scouting Reports

Jacorey Brooks: Scouting Report

Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Jacorey Brooks is committed to Alabama, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a scouting report based on his film.

Jacorey Broks is an imposing receiver who overpowers defenders. Brooks has the height and strength of a college player already. He is a mismatch one on one against most defensive backs and can win contested balls routinely. Brooks has enough speed to get deep but is not a speedster, he does have excellent change of direction to create separation in the secondary. He does an exceptional job of tracking the ball and fighting off defenders to make the play. He displays good body control, high points the ball well and is very natural when catching the football.

Brooks is tough to tackle after the catch due to his strength and athleticism. He has the quickness to make defenders miss as well as the power to run through tackles. His strength makes him difficult to jam at the line of scrimmage and should be an asset when blocking on the perimeter as well. Brooks has enough speed and burst but could improve in these areas to help him get downfield easier at the next level. Overall, Brooks is a physical mismatch at receiver who catches just about everything thrown his way. Jacorey Brooks will be an outside receiver who can take on the toughest defensive backs in the country and a likely all conference performer in college.
