Florida GatorsRecruit Scouting Reports

Carlos Del Rio-Wilson: Scouting Report

Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year we will review the film of some of the top prospects and give you a breakdown of what we see. Today we will dive in and breakdown the tape on Carlos Del Rio-Wilson to give you a scouting report based on his film.

Carlos Del Rio-Wilson is a well rounded quarterback who has a diverse skill set. He has above average speed and athleticism for the position and is able to pick up chunks of yardage as a runner. He has good instincts on the move and does a good job of avoiding tacklers. He has average height and a solid stature with the strength to run through arm tackles. Del-Rio Wilson has above average arm strength and is able to make most of the throws needed at the college level. His accuracy is inconsistent at times but has improved over the course of his career. His footwork is solid and allows him to dive the ball when he sets his base.

Del Rio-Wilson has shown good progress on film as he has matured. His junior film shows a longer release that contributes to his accuracy inconsistencies, but the film from the elite 11 finals this summer shows a much cleaner release, which should lead to more consistent accuracy going forward. He has a good understanding of the position and a knack for making plays that cannot be coached. Overall, Del Rio-Wilson may not have one standout tool, but is well rounded and has shown the willingness to improve that should lead to success going forward. Carlos Del Rio-Wilson will develop into a good starting quarterback at the power five level who can beat the defense in a variety of ways.
