Chris Hilton: Scouting Report
Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Recently, Chris Hilton committed to LSU, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a scouting report based on his film.
Chris Hilton is a complete receiver who can do a little of everything on the football field. Hilton has average size for the position but plays bigger than he is. He will continue to get stronger in college and should not be limited by his size at all. Hilton is a sudden athlete with good speed and burst, accelerating away from defensive backs with ease. He is a solid route runner and understands how to get a defender off balance before making his break. He tracks the ball well down field and looks very natural catching the ball. His ball skills, body control and leaping ability make him a great weapon in 50/50 situations even though he is not a tall receiver.
Hilton does not have any real weaknesses in his game but he could be a little more elusive after the catch. He needs to add some strength at the college level but that is fairly common for a high school prospect. Chris Hilton is a complete receiver who will star at the college level, he should be an all conference type performer fairly quickly at the next level.
