Blake Fisher: Scouting Report
Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Blake Fisher previously committed to Notre Dame, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a quick scouting report based on his film.
Blake Fisher is a massive prospect that has a very wide base and the needed size and length to excel at the next level. Fisher will need to redefine his body some in college but he is a player built with raw power and athleticism. Fisher is surprisingly nimble for a player his size and quick enough to play tackle. The footwork may need some work but he does not look out of place when playing in space or against pass rushers. The raw power and size of Fisher shows up on film, as he moves people upfront with ease and possesses an equally powerful punch in pass protection. This is a player that plays with an attitude and edge, looking to take it to his opponent. Fisher will need to get better at playing with leverage and keeping his pads down as well as avoid playing with too much forward lean that can cause him to lose his balance at times. With a tendency to get his arms outside and almost hug defenders, Fisher could be called for some holding penalties if this facet of his game is not improved. Overall, Blake Fisher is a player that must continue to refine his technique and improve his consistency, but has the tools to be a very good lineman for an upper tier college program.
