WR Rankings: Jordan Addison
As we review the WR rankings, players have had the opportunity to raise their stock and move up the rankings. Before we jump into Jordan Addison, here’s a few reminders about the rankings themselves:
- The rankings will be updated throughout the season.
- Players who have not played college football are not eligible for the rankings.
- Players are graded on their college ability, not their pro potential.
- We are judging players on their film, production and physical tools.

USC wide receiver, Jordan Addison was highly productive as a true freshman in 2020, then put together an even better sophomore season in 2021. He teamed up with star quarterback, Kenny Pickett to lead the Panthers offense during an 11 – 3 season. Addison won the Biletnikoff Award after he caught 100 passes for 1,593 yards and 17 touchdowns. The second year star led the ACC in receiving yards and tied for the national lead in receiving touchdowns. He is a dynamic threat on the perimeter and has proven he is one of the top wide receivers in college football.
Addison has great hands, catching just about everything thrown his way. He uses his 6’0″ 175 lb frame effectively to shield off defenders, putting himself in position to make the play on the ball. Addison regularly displays the excellent body control, balance and nimble feet to adjust to the throw and make tough catches in traffic or along the sideline. His strong hands allow him to pluck the ball out of the air with ease making difficult catches look routine. Addison’s ability to make plays on the ball gives his quarterbacks plenty of margin for error when throwing to the star receiver.
While Addison can make tough catches in traffic, he does an excellent job of getting away from coverage and creating separation with his quickness and route running ability. He plays with good balance and quick feet, which help him to set defenders up and get in and out of his breaks efficiently to create separation. Addison is a savvy route runner, who does not give away where he is trying to go until it is too late for the defensive back to react and get in position to defend him. Defensive backs end up off balance and are unable to keep up with the quick footed receiver one on one.
Jordan Addison does an excellent job of getting open downfield. He has excellent hands and shows the ability to adjust and make touch catches look easy. Addison is slippery after the catch, consistently picking up extra yardage on short and intermediate passes. He was highly productive at Pitt, earning a spot among the best receivers in college football.
