Tommy Brockermeyer: Scouting Report
Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Recently, Tommy Brockermeyer committed to Alabama, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a quick scouting report based on his film.
Tommy Brockermeyer is not the biggest prospect in terms of body mass but is tall, long armed, and well put together. He will need to gain weight and strength to be effective at the next level but has plenty of room on his frame to do so. Very flexible and naturally able to bend at the knees, Brockermeyer has the athletic traits that you covet at offensive tackle. His high end athleticism flashes on tape, particularly on the defensive side of the ball, where Brockermeyer displays impressive quickness and mobility for a player his size.
Brockermeyer is a very nasty player that overpowers and punishes his opponents regularly, although there is some concern regarding the level of his competition. Brockermeyer missed his junior season due to injury, and this evaluation is primarily based on his sophomore film. Tommy Brockermeyer has elite tools for an offensive tackle and the upside to be voted as an All-Conference performer at tackle.
