Alabama Crimson TideRecruit Scouting Reports

James Brockermeyer: Scouting Report

Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Recently, James Brockermeyer committed to Alabama, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a quick scouting report based on his film.

James Brockermeyer has a good frame for a center prospect that holds mostly good weight and has plenty of room to grow. He will need to add muscle mass, particularly in the lower half before he will be ready to contribute at the next level. Brockermeyer plays with good pad level and the leverage needed to be successful on the interior of the line. He is a good athlete for the position that moves well and displays natural athleticism for the position. That athleticism is on displays on screen passes and in space at the second level, where Brockermeyer does not look out of place.

Brockermeyer is a high energy and effort player that will maximize his abilities every time he takes the field. Solid in pass protection in terms of his athleticism and feet, but he will need to continue to improve his technique. He is rarely challenged at his current competition level and will need to make the adjustment to much tougher competition at the collegiate level. James Brockermeyer is an excellent center prospect that projects as a top tier player at the position after 2-3 seasons of developing.
