Tommi Hill: Scouting Report
Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Recently, Tommi Hill committed to Arizona State, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a quick scouting report based on his film.
Tommi Hill is a two way athlete who makes plays all over the football field but projects as a defensive back in college. He has good height and length for a defensive back and is already a well built athlete. Hill has good long speed and can cover a lot of ground in the secondary. He has the ball skills you would expect from a two way player who also plays receiver. He has good leaping ability and can be an asset against jump balls. Hill is a physical football player who will not shy away from anyone.
Hill has limited experience at defensive back and will need to work on his technique. He needs to be more explosive in short areas and show better lateral quickness. He could project as a cornerback or a safety, depending on his flexibility and how big he gets, but does have the tools to learn both positions. Overall, Hill is a good athlete who will be an asset in the defensive backfield. Tommi Hill may need some time to develop but he is a solid prospect who could become a starter at the power five level.
