TE Rankings: Ben Yurosek

With the season underway players have had the opportunity to raise their stock and move up the rankings. Before we jump in to Ben Yurosek, here’s a few reminders about the rankings themselves:

  • The rankings will be updated throughout the season.
  • Players who have not played college football are not eligible for the rankings.
  • Players are graded on their college ability, not their pro potential.
  • We are judging players on their film, production and physical tools.

You can view the College Football TE Rankings here.

Stanford tight end, Ben Yurosek has emerged as a big weapon for the Stanford offense in 2021. Yurosek took a little time to get comfortable in his role for the Cardinal, but he has been putting together big performances of late. He has made 21 catches for 345 yards and 1 touchdown through his first six games of the season. Yurosek has become more productive as the season has progressed and is becoming a big play tight end.

Yurosek is a big target at 6’5″ 235 lbs. He has the frame to shield the ball from defenders, giving his quarterback a safe target in the middle of the field. Yurosek has the height and length to win jump balls downfield. He has the concentration and timing to come down with the ball in contested situations. Yurosek is a quarterback’s best friend, he presents a good target, protects the ball, is tough to overthrow and makes difficult catches.

Yurosek’s size makes him a difficult match-up, but his speed makes it nearly impossible to find a good defender to cover him. He can put pressure on the seams of the defense by running past linebackers and getting downfield for big plays. Yurosek is nimble for an athlete his size and has the ability to create separation out of his breaks. He is a big play threat down the field, making it tough for bigger defenders to defend him. Yurosek has the frame of a safe tight end, but has the speed to be a big play weapon in the passing game.

Ben Yurosek has been proving that he is a receiving threat for Stanford. He gets open downfield and has the size to make tough plays even when he is not open. Yurosek is a physical blocker as well and does not shy away from being physical at the point of attack. He is still just in his second year at Stanford, but Yurosek is quickly developing into one of the best tight ends in college football.
