Romello Brinson: Scouting Report

Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Recently, Romello Brinson committed to Miami, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a quick scouting report based on his film.

Romello Brinson is a long, athletic wide receiver with good hands. He is a tall prospect with long arms and good overall athleticism. He has some speed to get down field and accelerates to top speed quickly. Brinson does a great job of tracking the ball down field and positions himself well. He has excellent hands and catches the ball cleanly. He has great body control and is excellent in jump ball situations, high pointing the ball well and using his length to protect it from the defender.

Brinson may be thin, but he fights through tackles well and has good balance allowing him to keep his feet and make plays after the catch. He needs to become a better route runner and get better at setting defenders up. Brinson is more of a streamlined athlete and could add some side to side agility. He will need to get stronger at the next level but has room to add good weight. Brinson plays high level competition and has no trouble producing. Romello Brinson is a tall, fast wide receiver who will become a big time downfield threat at the college level.
