Micah Crowell: Scouting Report
Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Recently, Micah Crowell committed to NC State, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a quick scouting report based on his film.
Micah Crowell is a big receiver with a strong muscular build. He knows he has good size and uses it well to position himself to make the catch. He is excellent in contested catch situations because smaller defensive backs cannot fight through his frame and length. Crowell has good hands and does a good job of framing the the ball when he catches it. He uses his strength well with the ball in his hands to pick up yards after the catch, breaking tackles and fighting for extra yardage. Crowell is a good athlete but does not have great top end speed. He has some shiftiness with the ball in his hands but needs to be more nimble and explosive in his movements. He is raw as a route runner and will need to get better at getting in and out of his breaks quickly. There is a lot to work with here, but there is still development needed. Micah Crowell is a good prospect with good size and tools, but will need to hone his skills to succeed against bigger and faster athletes at the college level.
