Logan Taylor: Scouting Report

Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Recently, Logan Taylor committed to Virginia, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a quick scouting report based on his film.

Logan Taylor is a very tall, wide, and long prospect with an elite frame that has room to add some more size and bulk. Relies on brute strength and elite length at this stage in his career. Taylor has enough athleticism to be effective in space but this is not necessarily a strength of his game either. Taylor must improve his pad level and eliminate his tendency to lean too far forward in pass protection, causing him to lose his balance. He tends to “catch” pass rushers where you would like to see him deliver a punch, but he has the raw ability to improve in this regard. His footwork can be categorized as average to above average, but coupled with his elite size and length, will be more than enough to be effective as a college tackle. Taylor is a rugged player that plays hard and looks to impose his will on his opponents. Logan Taylor is a developmental prospect with high end upside, that will need to work hard to refine his technique in order to reach his All-Conference potential.
