Notre Dame Fighing IrishRecruit Scouting Reports

Lorenzo Styles Jr: Scouting Report

Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Lorenzo Styles Jr is committed to Notre Dame, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a scouting report based on his film.

Lorenzo Styles Jr is a dynamic wide receiver who is a big play threat at anytime. He has average height for the position and a slim frame. Styles may not be a big prospect, but he is an excellent athlete displaying excellent speed, explosiveness and change of direction ability. Styles’ athleticism allows him to pull away from defenders and get open downfield. He does a good job of tracking the ball in the air and shows good hands when catching the football. Styles has the body control to haul in the difficult catches. He is a big play threat downfield but that is not the only way Styles can hurt the defense.

Styles is also a threat on jet sweeps, runs and shorter passes where he has the elusiveness to make defenders miss and pick up big yardage. He has a variety of moves and the start and stop ability to make defenders miss in tight spaces. Styles is a star on both sides of the ball in high school but will need to focus on the technical aspects of the receiver position in college to reach his full potential. Styles needs to add strength to his frame to compete with better, stronger defensive backs in college. Overall, Styles is an excellent athlete who can turn any play into a big play on the gridiron. Lorenzo Styles Jr will be an explosive receiver in college who has the chance to be an all conference type talent.
