Landon Tengwall: Scouting Report

Landon Tengwall is a tall, long prospect with an excellent build that carries little to no bad weight. He possesses a very strong and wide base in his lower half and an equally impressive upper half. This is a player that is truly college ready from a physical standpoint. Tengwall has good feet for a player his size and is comfortable when pulling or in space on screen plays. He has the strength and power to open up rushing lanes with ease. His leg drive is good, not great, but should improve with more coaching. Hand placement can be an issue as Tengwall often grabs jersey outside the numbers (like most high school prospects) and needs to be cleaned up to avoid holding calls at the next level. While his pad level is usually good, there are times when he gets too high, too quickly, and is another area for improvement.

In pass protection Tengwall shows impressive patience, footwork, and punch that knocks pass rushers off of their path. He also displays excellent balance and flexibility with the ability to bend naturally at the knees. How well he is able to handle collegiate speed rushers will ultimately determine if he can stay at tackle (we believe he can). Landon Tengwall is an excellent prospect who has the ability to start from Day 1 at an elite program and will be one of the best linemen in the country.
