Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Kyron Ware-Hudson flipped his committed to USC, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a scouting report based on his film.
Kyron Ware-Hudson is a strong and physical receiver who can overpower defensive backs. Ware-Hudson has good size with a strong, muscular build. He is well built and is too strong for most defensive backs at the high school level. Ware-Hudson competes well for the football and is able to win in contested situations, coming down with the football in tight coverage thanks to his good hands and physicality. He tracks the ball well and has the body control to adjust and make tough catches. He shows a good understanding of route concepts and is able to create separation by setting up his moves. While he is not a burner, Ware-Hudson does have enough speed to get deep and make the big plays downfield.
Ware-Hudson has good run after the catch ability, thanks in large part to his physicality and strength. He is tough to tackle one on one in space and has enough speed and wiggle to not allow defenders to get clean shots on him. He is also a physical blocker in the run game, who will search out defenders downfield. Ware-Hudson is not a very sudden athlete at this stage and needs to work on in his burst and explosiveness. Better quickness in and out of his breaks will help his him maximize his route running ability. Overall, Ware Hudson is a powerful receiver who is a tough cover for most defensive backs. Kyron Ware-Hudson is a good route runner who wins in contested situations, he will become a consistent receiver who will be a starter that can keep drives moving at the power five level.
