Jason Marshall: Scouting Report

Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Jason Marshall is uncommitted but is choosing between Alabama, Florida, LSU, Oregon and Miami. Today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a quick scouting report based on his film.

Jason Marshall is an athletic cornerback with all the physical traits to be a star in college. Marshall moves with an ease about him that only the best athletes have. He is a quick and explosive player who is light on his feet and has a unique spring in his step. Marshall has good speed and is able to cover a ton of ground in the secondary. He is a tall prospect with good length and has the the room to add a lot of good weight to his frame. Marshall is a good hitter in run support and probably has the physicality in size to be a safety. Marshall Fits the mold physically and athletically of the ideal modern corner.

Marshall has excellent instincts on defense, anticipating plays well and getting in position quickly. He tracks the ball well and has excellent ball skills to make to make the interception. He also has the playmaking ability to be a dangerous return man once he has the ball in his hands.  Though he has all the athleticism to be a corner, Marshall does need to work on his technique to reach his potential. There is very little on a football field the Marshall does not do well and he is often the best player on the field. We expect Jason Marshall to become an excellent cornerback in college who is one of the best at his position in the entire country.
