Heinrich Haarberg: Scouting Report
Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year we will review the film of some of the top prospects and give you a breakdown of what we see. Today we will dive in and breakdown the tape on Heinrich Haarberg to give you a scouting report based on his film.
Heinrich Haarberg is a tall, athletic quarterback with a lot of potential. He has excellent height and will continue to gain weight and strength as he matures. Haarberg uses his height to scan the field with ease and can deliver the football from the pocket comfortably. He has good arm strength and accuracy, but needs to improve his throwing motion and be more consistent with his footwork. If he can make these adjustments he will unlock the potential of his arm. Haarberg throws with velocity when needed, but also can throw accurately with touch. He is a very adept passer on the run, throwing a good ball from various platforms while on the move.
Once on the move, Haarberg can beat the defense with his running ability. He has a long stride and good speed to pick up big yardage on the ground. He does not have the elusiveness to regularly make defenders miss, but is fast enough to run past defenders for big gains. Haarberg will need to adjust to a major jump in competition in college, but has the tools to make the jump. He will also need to clean his release up to reach his potential. Overall, Haarberg has the tools to be a dangerous college quarterback. Heinrich Haarberg has all the physical attributes to become a starter for an upper echelon power five team.
