Kamar Wilcoxson: Scouting Report

Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Recently, Kamar Wilcoxson committed to Florida, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a quick scouting report based on his film.

Kamar Wilcoxson is a versatile defensive back who can play cornerback or safety. Wilcoxson has good speed and explosiveness, he can cover short distances very quickly and has great range down field. He has adequate hip flexibility to play corner and could play corner in college if he maintains his flexibility as he gains weight. Wilcoxson has good height and length and will get bigger and stronger as he matures. He has good ball skills and competes well on contested plays. He is a physical player who disrupts receivers at the line of scrimmage and can take on big receivers. His physicality is on display against the run where he attacks the ball carrier and is a willing tackler. Wilcoxson is a jack of all trades type of player in the secondary, he maybe a master of none but he has no major weaknesses either. Kamar Wilcoxson will develop into a big corner or a cover safety, his diversity and well rounded game will make him a quality power five player.
