Brandon Inniss: Scouting Report
Size
Brandon Inniss has average height for a wide receiver. He is a well built receiver who has a college ready build in high school. He has the strength to overpower defensive backs on the perimeter. Inniss has the physical build to be an imposing receiver even though he is not considered a tall receiver.
Athleticism
Inniss has the speed to get behind the defense and make big plays but is not really a burner. He has excellent short area quickness, accelerating and changing directions explosively to pull away from defenders. Inniss has the twitch to create separation and make defenders miss. He has the functional athleticism that translates well on the football field.
Route Running
Inniss is an advanced route runner, he can run the complete route tree and gets good separation out of his breaks. His short area quickness helps him to create space and get open. He sets receivers up well, using his body to create leverage and create a good target for his quarterback. Inniss can get open at any level, making him a tough cover wherever he lines up.
Ball Skills
Inniss has excellent ball skills that make him tough to stop even when he is covered. He has the ability to track the ball well then shows the body control to make the adjustment to make the catch. He does a good job of attacking the ball at it’s highest point to win in jump ball situations. Inniss is sure handed making all the routine plays to keep the ball moving, but also has the tools to make the spectacular catches.
Run After Catch
Inniss’ powerful build and short area quickness make him dangerous after the catch. He can make defenders miss, but also has the physicality to run through tackles. Inniss is a threat to turn short passes into big gains on every play.
Projection
Brandon Inniss is an excellent receiver prospect who has the physical tools to be great. With his competitive nature and drive to be great, Inniss checks every box a coach looks for in a prospect. Inniss is an advanced receiver prospect who is likely to become one of the best receivers in college football.
