Reuben Fatheree: A Quick Look at What the Aggies are Getting

Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Recently, Reuben Fatheree committed to Texas A&M, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a quick scouting report based on his film.

Fatheree is a massive player with long arms and an excellent frame that shows on film. He will have no problem taking his strength and conditioning to another level in college. Fatheree plays with a nastiness that you like to see from your linemen especially in the run game. His target always seems to have a difficult time disengaging after the massive linemen gets his paws on them. When pulling he has enough mobility to find a defender in space and take them out of the play.

In pass protection, Fatheree is quick to get his hands on pass rushers and ends up taking them out of the play. He shows above average balance and natural bend at tackle but needs to refine his technique. As with most young linemen, pad level is an issue that Fatheree will need to correct at the collegiate level as he tends to stay upright and rely on his physical dominance to get the job done. All in all, there is plenty to like in Fatheree’s game and he should develop into a very good player for the Aggies.
