TE Rankings: Jaheim Bell

Last Updated: 12/12/2022

With the season underway players have had the opportunity to raise their stock and move up the rankings. Before we jump in to Jaheim Bell, here’s a few reminders about the rankings themselves:

  • The rankings will be updated throughout the season.
  • Players who have not played college football are not eligible for the rankings.
  • Players are graded on their college ability, not their pro potential.
  • We are judging players on their film, production and physical tools.

Former South Carolina tight end, Jaheim Bell was an explosive play-maker for the Gamecocks’ offense. Bell showed his versatility and big play ability from different positions. He made 25 catches for 231 yards and 2 touchdowns as well as 73 carries for 261 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns this season. His productivity went down as a receiver in 2022 as the team needed him to play more running back this year. Bell has proven he can make big plays and should prosper in Mike Norvell’s offense at Florida State.

Bell is a fantastic athlete at tight end. He has the speed to stretch the defense and turn shorter gains into big plays. Bell accelerates well off the line and gets in and out of his breaks quickly, creating separation with ease. He shows tremendous leaping ability and can rise up to bring down a high pass when needed. Bell moves incredibly well for a tight end, consistently beating defenders and getting open downfield.

While the speed and explosiveness are great, Bell also has a powerfully built frame at 6’3″ 230 lbs. He fights off tacklers at the second level, proving difficult to bring down in space. Bell has the strength to fight through contact for the ball and wins in contested situations because of it. That power also helps him block, though he needs to be more consistent in that area of his game. Bell’s speed and power make him a nightmare with the ball in hands, which is why South Carolina will even hand it to him on a jet sweep from time to time.

Jaheim Bell is an explosive tight end, who is proved to be a big play threat and a versatile weapon at South Carolina. He has strong hands to secure the ball in traffic and fights off defenders for the football. Bell is an improving blocker who has the big play ability to be a star. Bell has become a versatile weapon who is a dangerous tight end that gives defensive coordinators fits.
