Size
Tayon Holloway has average height for the cornerback position, but has above average length. He is a thinner prospect right now, though he has the frame to continue to add good weight easily. Holloway will continue to get stronger and has the size to play outside or inside effectively.
Athleticism
Holloway has good speed in the open field. He accelerates well and can get up to speed in a few short steps, this burst also manifests itself in good closing speed. Holloway is a fluid athlete who can change directions quickly and efficiently. Holloway is a good overall athlete who has the athletic tools to star in the secondary.
Hips/Technique
Holloway has good hip flexibility and makes smooth transitions in coverage. He is efficient coming out of his back pedal and breaks well on plays in front of him. Holloway does not press as much on his film and will need to work on this part of his game at the next level. His length and continuing to add strength will help him in this area.
Ball Skills
Holloway does a good job of playing the ball in the air. He tracks the ball well and has good timing and leaping ability to break up passes. Holloway has the quick hands to make the interception even when he does not have much time to react. His ball skills are a big asset and will help him make big plays at the next level.
Physicality/Tackling
Holloway is a willing tackler, but will need to add strength and physicality to help him attack the running game more effectively. He beats blockers with his athleticism but needs to get better at disengaging and shedding blockers on the edge. Adding strength will also help Holloway be more physical with receivers at the line of scrimmage.
Projection
Tayon Holloway is a smooth athlete who has good ball skills and is fluid in coverage. He is already a good cornerback but has the tools to continue to get better. Holloway’s abilities will help him develop into a starter for an upper echelon power five team.
