Prince Kollie: Scouting Report
Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Recently, Prince Kollie committed to Notre Dame, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a quick scouting report based on his film.
Prince Kollie is an athletic linebacker who makes plays all over the field. He has excellent speed an explosion for the position, ranging from sideline to sideline and closing quickly on the football. Kollie also has good change of a direction ability making him an asset in coverage. He has good instincts and recognizes plays quickly when in zone coverage, closing on the play well and making plays on the football. Against the run Collie does a good job of attacking blockers and finding the ball carrier, once he has the ball carrier in his sights he has good burst to pursue and make the play.
Collie is not a big linebacker but does have above average length and a well built frame. He has room to add some more weight but will not be a traditional middle linebacker. Collie is a strong hitter who is not afraid to lower his shoulder and deliver a blow. While we would like to see him wrap up more consistently he does get the job done. Collie plays both ways in high school and shows good ball skills especially on his offensive film. Overall, Collie is an athletic all around football player who makes plays. Prince Collie fits the mold of the modern linebacker college teams are looking for and will develop into a power five starter at linebacker or as a linebacker/safety hybrid.
