Miller Moss: Scouting Report
Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Recently, Miller Moss committed to USC, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a quick scouting report based on his film.
Miller Moss is an excellent quarterback prospect. He is not a big prospect but has good size. Moss has a good arm and is able to stretch the field vertically and throw the underneath throws with good velocity. Moss shows the ability to throw the ball with velocity and touch when necessary. He has great footwork for a young prospect and sets himself up well to step into his throws. Moss throws with accuracy and anticipation, he has the ability to complete passes in tight coverage and throws people open who appear to be covered.
Moss is not a scrambler but has good functional mobility. He plays with good feel and navigates the pocket well to avoid pressure and make plays in the passing game. Moss does a good job of keeping his eyes down field while on the move, finding receivers who break open late. Moss does need to focus on ball security as he does leave the ball unprotected at times, but we are nitpicking when searching for weaknesses in Moss’ game. Miller Moss is a future star at the quarterback position who has the talent to be among the best at the position at the collegiate level.
