Kojo Antwi: Scouting Report
Size
Kojo Antwi has above average height for a receiver. He has good length and plenty of room to continue to fill out his solid frame. Antwi has some muscle on him already and will be a solidly built receiver. Antwi has the size to play any of the receiver positions at the next level.
Athleticism
Antwi has game breaking speed and acceleration, he is able to switch into a higher gear in the blink of an eye and blow past defenders. He has the long speed to finish big plays with a score. He is an abrupt athlete, who starts and stops quickly. Antwi has above average lateral quickness, but could get better in this area.
Route Running
Antwi is a solid route runner, who runs a variety of routes in high school. He does a good job of accelerating out of his breaks to create separation. His speed and burst allow him to create separation on downfield routes or when working across the field. Antwi will benefit from college coaching where he can learn to set his routes up and master the nuances of the position.
Ball Skills
Antwi shows good hands and has the ability to catch the ball away from his body. He tracks the ball well in the air and adjusts to poorly thrown balls well to make the play. Antwi has the balance, body control and leaping ability to win in contested situations where he has to fight the defender for the ball.
Run After Catch
Antwi’s start and stop ability makes him dangerous after the catch. He can gear down and get defenders to take a poor angle and then blow past them with a burst of speed. Antwi quickly creates distance between himself and the defender allowing him to create space to make the next defender miss. He is a strong player who is difficult to bring down in space.
Projection
Kojo Antwi is an athletic receiver that has the speed and acceleration to make big plays as a matter of habit. He shows promise as a route runner and has a good build to be a complete receiver. His combination of size, athletic ability and feel for the position will allow him to become an all conference type performer in college.
