Jordan Mosley: Scouting Report

Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Jordan Mosley is committed to Northwestern, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a scouting report based on his film.

Jordan Mosley is a fast receiver with big play potential at any time. He is not a big receiver but has a well built frame for his size and plays with strength. Mosley has good long speed that shows up on tape when he catches short passes and turns them into long gains and in kick return situations. He has the acceleration to get up to speed quickly and get deep against quality defensive backs. Mosley shows the ability to track the ball, adjust to it and make tough catches. His speed and burst allow him to get free downfield but he has the toughness to make plays in traffic as well.

Mosley is a threat with the ball in his hands due to his speed and burst. He is able to find seams in the defense and take advantage of them before the defense can recover. Mosley will need to improve his side to side agility at the next level to be as effective after the catch. He also needs to progress as a route runner to create consistent separation at the next level, as he is currently able to get open with his speed alone. Overall, Mosley has the speed and hands to stretch the field and “take the top off the defense”. Jordan Mosley is a fast football player who has the hands and toughness to be a complete receiver and develop into a power five starter.
