Jordan Hudson: Scouting Report
Size
Jordan Hudson has above average height for a receiver. He is a bit thin now, but still has room to fill out his frame and will get stronger as he matures. Hudson has good length and can create mismatches on the outside. His size and build will allow him to play any of the receiver spots in college.
Athleticism
Hudson has enough speed to press the defense vertically. He excels when changing directions, showing the quickness and balance to create space. He has good start and stop ability with the short area explosiveness to make big plays.
Route Running
Hudson has a good feel for where defenders are around him and settles into the open pockets in the coverage well. He is savvy when running routes, using his change of direction and change of speed ability to get defenders off balance. Hudson has the quickness to create space coming out of his breaks and get open in the intermediate passing game.
Ball Skills
Hudson has soft hands and is comfortable catching the ball away from his body. He has good body control and on-field awareness to navigate the sideline and adjust to tougher throws. Hudson tracks the ball effectively and shows good timing in jump ball situation to win contested balls. He is a sure handed target in the passing game.
Run After Catch
Hudson’s short area burst and change of direction skills make him very tough to contain with the ball in his hands. He has good instincts for defenders around him and displays an array of moves to make them miss. Hudson is able to make a defender miss and quickly get back up to speed before the defense can corral him.
Projection
Jordan Hudson has the size and quickness to be a diverse threat in the passing game. He is difficult to tackle in space and makes big plays after the catch consistently. Hudson has the physical tools and quickness to develop into a starter for an upper echelon power five program.
