Jake Garcia has flipped his commitment to Miami, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a quick scouting report based on his film.
Jake Garcia is an accurate passer who plays the game with good rhythm. Garcia has great touch on his passes and can drop the ball in to his receivers hands at any level. He combines that touch with great accuracy, he has excellent ball placement often leading receivers away from defenders and towards extra yardage. Garcia does a good job of throwing on time, but is able to adjust and get rid of the ball quickly when pressured. It helps in these situations that Garcia has a quick, clean delivery. While he is not a scrambler who will run for a lot of yardage, Garcia does have good mobility and throws well on the move as well. He is not a big quarterback but is not small either, he has decent height but will need to get stronger at the next level.
Garcia has good mechanics and footwork at the high school level. He does not have elite arm strength, but does have above average arm strength. This shows at times when his deep ball does not have as much on it and hangs up in the air a little too long. This does not hurt him much because he is an intelligent player who anticipates well and throws on time. Garcia has a good understanding of the quarterback position, delivering accurate, catchable passes on time. Jake Garcia will be an excellent college quarterback who enhances the abilities of those around him with his play.
