Ishmael Ibraheem: Scouting Report

Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Recently, Ishmael Ibraheem committed to Texas, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a quick scouting report based on his film.

Ishmael Ibraheem is a tall, rangy corner with good upside at the next level. He has good top end speed and can run with receivers down field. In addition to top end speed Ibraheem also shows good acceleration, getting out of his stance and up to speed with good burst. He has good height and a good frame with long arms and room to add the needed weight. Ibraheem is still very skinny and will need to add some weight to be effective in the college game. However, this does not prevent him from being a willing and able tackler. He does a good job of being aggressive and fast to the ball and is not afraid to deliver the hit. Ibraheem tracks the ball well and uses his length to break up pass plays but we would like to see him catch a few more of these balls and convert pass breakups into interceptions. Though he has good speed and acceleration, Ibraheem needs to be more fluid in his movements to cover receivers at the college level. He should be able to make some progress here as he cleans up his footwork. Ishmael Ibraheem is a long, toolsy corner who projects to be a good starting corner at the power five level.
