Dylan Fairchild: Scouting Report
Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Recently, Dylan Fairchild committed to Georgia, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a quick scouting report based on his film.
On film it is clear that Dylan Fairchild is a well put together lineman with a nice frame for the next level. Fairchild shows excellent effort from rep to rep and is a tenacious run blocker. He does a great job of maintaining his base and keeping his legs driving, although, he tends to lean too far forward at times. Fairchild shows the quickness and instinctive timing necessary to execute combo blocks and find a sifting linebacker at the second level of the defense. As a pass blocker, Fairchild displays some impressive footwork for a high school lineman. Fairchild’s patience in pass protection allows him to keep his balance and his punch has the power needed to keep pass rushers away from the quarterback. Fairchild does a good job of maintaining his balance as a pass protector and makes it difficult for defenders to get past him. Georgia has recruited some great linemen in recent years and Fairchild should be another one.
