Dekel Crowdus: Scouting Report

Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Dekel Crowdus is committed to Kentucky, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a scouting report based on his film.

Dekel Crowdus is an explosive playmaker at the receiver position. Crowdus is not a tall receiver and has a slender build. He does have excellent speed to score from anywhere on the field. Crowdus shows great acceleration blowing past defenders regularly. He is a smooth, fluid athlete who can make defenders miss in short spaces. Crowdus does a good job catching the football and plays bigger than his size would indicate, often winning in jump ball situations.

Crowdus is an asset as a deep threat and also on short passes where he can utilize his run after the catch abilities. He can be used as a runner on jet sweeps and as a return man to get him the ball in space. Crowdus’ athleticism and fluid movements allow him to create separation against defensive backs and as he learns the nuances of route running this will only become more apparent. He will need to get stronger in college as he takes on better athletes in the secondary. Overall, Crowdus is an explosive player who can make a big play at any time. Dekel Crowdus will be a dynamic weapon out of the slot who should be a playmaker at the power five level.
