CB Rankings: Kelee Ringo

With the season underway players have had the opportunity to raise their stock and move up the rankings. Before we jump into Kelee Ringo, here’s a few reminders about the rankings themselves:

  • The rankings will be updated throughout the season.
  • Players who have not played college football are not eligible for the rankings.
  • Players are graded on their college ability, not their pro potential.
  • We are judging players on their film, production and physical tools.

You can view the College Football CB rankings here.

Georgia cornerback, Kelee Ringo is part of a reloaded Bulldogs secondary that has played very well in 2021. Georgia has been lights out defensively all season and Ringo has been a key part of that success. He has 15 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 interception and 4 pass breakups through seven games this season. Ringo is an emerging star on a defense that already has plenty of star power.

Ringo is a physical specimen at cornerback. He has good height, standing 6’2″ and is a powerful 205 lbs. He has great length to go with the height making him nearly impossible to throw over. Ringo can get physical with receivers at the line of scrimmage and hold his ground in physical match-ups downfield. His impressive reach makes it difficult to squeeze passes into receivers when he is in coverage and helps him to close passing windows that may otherwise exist in the coverage. There are few cornerbacks in college with Ringo’s physical gifts which he uses very well.

Sometimes bigger cornerbacks struggle taking on quicker receivers, but Ringo also has the speed and fluidity to shadow receivers all over the field. He is fast and has the explosiveness to close on plays in an instant. He is a flexible athlete, who gives little separation out of breaks. Very few receivers will be able to present an athletic mismatch against Ringo as he is a complete athlete. With his size and athletic ability, Ringo is a rare breed of cornerback that is at an advantage against almost every receiver.

Kelee Ringo has adjusted well to the college game, earning playing time early in 2021. He is gaining confidence every week, playing comfortably in coverage and trusting his ability. Ringo has fit in well on a defense that is full of talented players and ready to compete for a championship now. He is still a freshman, but that has not stopped him from proving he is one of the top cornerbacks in college football.
