Beau Pribula: Scouting Report
Size
Beau Pribula has above average height at the quarterback position. He has gained weight and gotten stronger as he has matured. Pribula has more room to fill out and will be able to add enough weight to handle the wear and tear of the college game. He is tall enough to make reads from the pocket so size will not be an issue for Pribula.
Release/Mechanics
Pribula has a quick, fairly effortless release that allows him to be consistent with his accuracy. His footwork is good in the pocket when he throws on time or on predetermined rollouts. He does rush his footwork sometimes when under pressure or forced to scramble and sometimes does not reset his feet before throwing.
Arm
Pribula has above average arm strength and good accuracy to go with it. He can drive the ball downfield and out to the sidelines, but is better when throwing in rhythm with touch and accuracy. Pribula throws a catchable ball that has good touch and arc, giving his receivers the opportunity to make a play. He has good ball placement, giving his teammate the best chance to make the play and to run after the catch.
Mobility
Pribula has good athleticism and is a capable runner from the quarterback position. He has some speed to break a long run and is crafty when on the move. Pribula is a capable runner but will not be as much of a big play running threat in college with better athletes on defense. He moves around the pocket well but does give too much ground at times. Pribula’s mobility is an asset and will help him make plays in college.
Intangibles
Pribula has shown the ability to improve year to year. He still needs to get better at reading the defense and going through his progressions quickly, but given the progress he has already made he should get better in this area as well. Pribula keeps his eyes downfield when on the run and shows the playmaking ability needed to improvise on the fly.
Projection
Beau Pribula is an accurate passer who has the ability to make plays with his athleticism as well. He has shown the ability to improve his game and should continue to progress. He has the ability to impact the game from the pocket and when on the move and will develop into a starter at the power five level.
