RB Rankings: Mohamed Ibrahim
As we review the RB rankings, players have had a chance to raise their stock and move up the rankings. Before we jump into Mohamed Ibrahim, here’s a few reminders about the rankings themselves:
- The rankings will be updated throughout the season.
- Players who have not played college football are not eligible for the rankings.
- Players are graded on their college ability, not their pro potential.
- We are judging players on their film, production and physical tools.

Minnesota, running back, Mohamed Ibrahim came into the 2021 season with two 1,000 yard rushing season under his belt and having averaged over 5.3 yards per carry every season of his career. He ran for over 100 yards in every game during the 2020 season and opened the 2021 season with a 30 carry 163 yard performance against Ohio State, but was injured late in the game and did not return during the 2021 season. Ibrahim has gone over 100 yards rushing in nine straight games and is one of the most consistent and reliable running backs in college football.
Ibrahim is a powerful runner at 5’10” and 210 lbs. He runs with a low pad level and drives tacklers back for extra yardage consistently. Ibrahim has a good combination of power and balance, which helps him to bounce off would be tacklers and break off big runs. He has the leg drive and physical strength to wear down the defense, leading to more missed and broken tackles as the game wears on. Ibrahim is difficult to tackle one on one, forcing the defense to rally to the football quickly or pay the price as he chews up yardage.
Ibrahim has excellent burst to combine with that power. He accelerates well, getting up to top speed quickly and exploding through holes. Ibrahim has quick feet for such a powerful runner and has the lateral agility and suddenness to make defenders miss in space. While he is excellent grinding our yards and moving the chains, he also has the home run hitting ability to put points on the board quickly. Ibrahim is the complete package as a running back blending power and quickness effectively.
Mohamed Ibrahim is a workhorse running back who has shown the ability to carry the offense. He has the power and balance that makes him tough to bring down, while also showing the quickness to make big plays. Ibrahim sets the tone for the offense, allowing the offense to build on the strong foundation provided by his running ability. In 2021 injury took him off the field, but in 2022 a healthy Ibrahim will against be one of the best running backs in the country.
