Omarion Cooper: A Quick Look at What the Seminoles are Getting
Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Recently, Omarion Cooper committed to Florida State, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a quick scouting report based on his film.
Omarion Cooper is a good prospect with some upside. Cooper has good length and speed, he covers a lot of ground in the secondary. Cooper uses his length well to jam and reroute receivers. He has good ball skills, making a good attempt to find the ball and make a play rather than losing the ball and allowing a covered receiver to make a play. Cooper has decent quickness and acceleration but could stand to improve some in this area. He has enough fluidity to stick at corner but needs to continue to maintain hip flexibility as he gains weight. Cooper has good length but needs to add some weight to hold up at the college level. He can tend to get a little handsy down field and needs to trust his technique and feet, he is usually in position and just needs to trust himself. Omarion Cooper has good tools and just needs to develop those tools and add some strength to be a capable corner at the college level.
