Jaraye Williams: A Quick Look at What the Cardinals are Getting
Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Recently, Jaraye Williams committed to Louisville, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a quick scouting report based on his film.
Jaraye Williams has good length and athleticism. He has a good frame to add weight but does need to add weight to play linebacker at the college level. Williams is a great athlete at the linebacker position who has good speed and quickness and will be an asset in coverage. Williams has excellent ball skills, he times his jump well and uses his length and athleticism to make plays on the ball downfield. He accelerates well and is effective in blitz situations. Williams needs to refine his technique as he often relies solely on his athleticism to get to the quarterback. Williams shows a willingness to hit and is able to get to the ball carrier with his athleticism. He is a solid tackler and should be a good run and hit linebacker in college. At times he disengages blockers well while keeping his outside arm free to make the tackle, but still tends rely on his athleticism more than his technique. With added strength and technique Jaraye Williams will be a good linebacker at the next level.
