Jacolby George: A Quick Look at What the Hurricanes are Getting
Recruiting is the life blood of a college football program. Every player added to the program is a new piece of the puzzle. It’s impossible to follow college football and ignore recruiting entirely. Throughout the year as players commit to their school of choice we will review their film and give you a breakdown of what we see. Recently, Jacolby George committed to Miami, today we will dive in and breakdown the tape to give you a quick scouting report based on his film.
Jacolby George displays plenty of natural talent and skill at the wide receiver position. George is not the biggest player and it shows on film, but he is not exactly frail either. His shows a great deal of versatility working the short game, taking jet sweeps, and getting open down the field. George is able to create separation and understands how to gear up and down during his routes. He has a good burst and enough long speed to make plenty of big plays and that should transition to the next level. George’s catching ability is probably his most impressive trait as he makes catches naturally and with ease. He tracks the ball on deeper routes intuitively and looks the ball into his hands securing the catch. George also shows impressive elusiveness with the ball in his hands and often slips through tacklers when you expect him to be corralled. The one word that best sums up his game is natural as the young receiver consistently makes things look easy. Look for him to have a successful career for the Hurricanes as they transition to a spread offense.
